Project Management To help keep your project on track, we employ a highly developed and integrated project management system. A major aspect of this system is the use of a number of specialized forms to track and record information. Note that these forms may be in either electronic or paper format or both to ensure maximum flexibility in tracking the project. You can view samples of the project management forms in PDF format by clicking on the name of the form. (Viewing the forms requires Adobe Acrobat Reader.) Project Costing Before starting any project, we prepare a detailed Project Estimate, specifying the work to be performed and the associated costs. Large, complex projects are often subject to "scope creep" as additional features and functionality are added as the project progresses. Scope creep can increase project costs and affect timelines. Consequently, anytime scope changes will impact the budget by more than 10% we will generate a Change Order, similar to the initial estimate, which specifies the changes and associated costs for your review and approval. This enables you to keep your project on time and on budget. Project Tracking As soon as we start a new project, we create one or more Project Tracking sheets. The Project Tracking sheet includes important project information, such as who to contact if questions or problems arise, and the project history. Quality Assurance and Project Records We maintain a rigorous quality assurance (QA) process throughout the project, and we keep detailed records to ensure that nothing falls through the cracks. The Project Records form serves several purposes, including tracking the QA process (also known as proofing) and maintaining a detailed history of the project status. Contractor Management Large complex projects or those requiring highly specialized skills may necessitate the use of contractors. The Time Sheet is used by contractors--as well as internally--to keep track of time spent on various aspects of a project. Contractors must submit a time sheet accounting for and detailing all time spent on a project. |
